How to burn copal

Start by lighting a natural charcoal disc with suitable tongs. Place the charcoal inside a heat-resistant incense burner. Sand can help protect the burner from excess heat.

Once the charcoal becomes hot and develops a layer of ash, place a small piece of resin on top.

The resin will begin to melt and release its aromatic smoke. Start with a small amount and add more when needed. A little goes a long way.

Use in a well-ventilated space. Keep the burner away from curtains, paper and other flammable materials. Never leave burning charcoal unattended.
